A finely detailed hand-colored lithograph titled “On the Road at Full Pace”, Plate III from the series Car Travelling in the South of Ireland in the year 1836 – Bianconi’s Establishment. Published by Ackermann & Co., 96 Strand, London on December 17, 1836, this historic print captures the lively energy of Charles Bianconi’s famed Irish horse-drawn cars, which transformed public transport in 19th-century Ireland.
The scene depicts a group of travelers in an open car, drawn at speed by a team of horses, with the rolling Irish countryside in the background. A wonderful combination of history, equestrian charm, and early travel culture.
