A striking and richly decorated antique Continental porcelain table lamp, mounted from a lidded baluster jar in the finest Dresden / Meissen tradition, dating to approximately 1880–1910.
The bulbous body and domed lid are hand-painted with exquisite fête galante figural scenes — elegantly dressed courtiers, musicians, and promenading couples set within lush garden landscapes. Each scene is rendered with exceptional detail and vivid polychrome enamels, framed by an emerald green ground with gold lattice and mosaic tracery. Swags of hand-painted polychrome florals — roses, chrysanthemums, and wildflowers in ribbon-tied garlands — fill the reserves between figures.
The domed lid is surmounted by a charming painted porcelain egg finial depicting a topiary tree in an urn. The lamp rests on an ornate pierced and reticulated brass base with scrollwork detail.
A substantial and elegant statement piece for a traditional, French-country, or maximalist interior.
