A stunning example of Victorian-era silverplate craftsmanship by Rogers Smith & Co. of New Haven, Connecticut — one of America's premier 19th-century silver manufacturers. This elegant coffee or tea pot features elaborate hand-etched bird and floral motifs covering the bulbous body, with additional engraving on the neck and lid collar.
Exceptional decorative details throughout: pierced reticulated handle with rosette medallions, ornate lattice finial, wheat-sheaf spout decoration, and stepped pedestal base. A true showcase piece of the American Aesthetic Movement period.
